Hello. I was born and raised in New York, much of that time was spent playing hockey, basketball, football and running track. I have an B.A. in Sociology from The State University of New York at Albany and a Master of Education from The College of Saint Rose.
Upon the completion of my education I moved to Northern Virginia (25 miles west of Washington D.C.) and started my career as a teacher. I spent 2 years as a 5th Grade teacher and then 1 year as a 6th Grade Science teacher. Once my 3rd year of teaching was complete I left the full-time teaching ranks to become an at home Dad. This role lasted 8 joyous years. By 2010 I was back among the teachers and once again in 5th grade. After my 3rd year at the same school my wife called me on a hot summer July day with some news. She told me she could take a transfer to Fort Collins, Colorado. That answer was a big YES! So, by October 2014 we had purchased a home in Fort Collins. I was fortunate to find a full time teaching position during the 2014-1025 school year. This was at another PSD elementary school as a science specialist. I taught science to the entire K-5 population. It was fun, but I wasn't getting the full feeling a classroom provides. In the spring of 2015 I was extremely fortunate to join the Bethke team. This is my first year at Bethke, but as you can see I am not new to teaching. My family is composed of two sons, a wife, and one loving Golden Retriever. Our two boys are PSD students. The oldest a 7th grader and younger a 5th grader. Colorado has become home. |

Life back in VirginiaThanksgiving 2012 for us was spent in Charlottesville, VA. This photo is my family along with my sister and brother in law. We spent the day touring Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson. Yes, a pre bearded Mr. Hitchcock.
